The Beach
The biggest draw to the St. Simons Island area is of course the beautiful beach! There are tons of beach access points near our rentals, and our beaches are fantastic. East Beach is our main beach, which is dog friendly and has beautiful, soft sand. The beaches generally aren’t too crowded, and are clean. Come join us!
St. Simons Island is a popular beach destination in the state of Georgia, USA. There are several public beach accesses on the island that provide visitors with access to the beautiful beaches.
Here are some of the most popular public beach accesses on St. Simons Island:
1. Coast Guard Station Beach Access: Located at the southern end of the island, this beach access offers a large parking lot, restrooms, showers, and picnic tables. It’s a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and fishing.
2. Massengale Park Beach Access: Located near the village area, this beach access offers parking, restrooms, showers, and picnic tables. It’s a great spot for families, as it has a playground and plenty of space for kids to play.
3. East Beach Beach Access: This beach access is located on the eastern end of the island and offers parking, restrooms, showers, and picnic tables. It’s a great spot for beachcombing, fishing, and birdwatching.
4. Gould’s Inlet Beach Access: This beach access is located on the northwestern end of the island and offers parking, restrooms, and picnic tables. It’s a popular spot for fishing and crabbing, as well as watching dolphins and shorebirds.
5. Neptune Park Beach Access: Located in the village area, this beach access offers parking, restrooms, showers, and picnic tables. It’s a great spot for families, as it has a playground, miniature golf course, and a pool.
All of these public beach accesses are free and open to the public. Visitors should be aware of the local rules and regulations, including any restrictions on pets, alcohol, and fires. Additionally, visitors should take care to respect the natural environment and keep the beaches clean and litter-free.
Pools
Neptune Park and Fun Zone is a family-friendly amusement park located on St. Simons Island, Georgia, in the United States. The park is situated on the beachfront and offers a range of activities and attractions, including a pool, water slides, mini-golf, and a playground. The pool at Neptune Park is a zero-entry pool, which means that it gradually gets deeper as you walk into it. This makes it accessible to swimmers of all ages and abilities. The water slides at the park include two high-speed slides and a “lazy river” slide that takes you on a leisurely journey around the park.
Mini-Golf
In addition to the water-based activities, Neptune Park also features a mini-golf course that offers a fun and challenging experience for all ages. The course features 18 holes, with a variety of obstacles and challenges to keep players engaged. For younger children, the park offers a large playground area that includes a climbing wall, swings, and other play structures. Bike the Island
There are many bike rental shops, and St. Simons Island is quite bike friendly, with many trails connecting to area parks. You can view a map of trails here, and links to bike rental shops below.
Birdwatching
We’re on the Colonial Coast Birding Trail, and more than 300 species of birds have been spotted along the Colonial Coast Birding Trail, including bald eagle, indigo buntings (left photo), and painted buntings.
